While the remote team concept is no stranger to project work in general, for the the large majority, 100% virtual is a new twist...So, how do Project Leaders keep the momentum going to ensure it all stays on track?
It's a somewhat amplified version of what we know works:
- collaborative focus on client-communicated success criteria goals
- calibration along the way to ensure efforts stay on the beaten path
- a shared project framework aligning the team to identified milestones
And, while we've known Agile and AI can help get us there quicker, outside of pure technology development, ambivalence has existed. While necessity may be the mother of invention, it’s also the mother of adaptability, forcing us to sometimes pivot into the unknown, or not yet tired ways of getting things done.
As we’re seeing across the entire economy, change happens through projects. So whether someone’s a project manager by title or not, it’s highly likely those rules could benefit from project management skills. So we think that’s only amplified in this distributed working environment.
