Kind of sounds like a buzz word. Yet, it's a requirement for any company to survive in this day and age. I am in awe of the people who always seem to think out of the box. Did you know that Amazon now has a cashier-less storefront? You scan the app to get in and shop. When you leave, it charges your card on file. No lines, no checkout. Crazy, huh?
As a company, we have to innovate. Heaven knows the competition is innovating too. I think this article is excellent because it describes a "toll-gate" for innovating and how to leverage the power and bridge the gap between tribal knowledge and new ways of thinking. It takes a combination of internal culture, close customer relationships and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Innovative environments can be challenging to maintain and manage, and doing so requires the right combination of standard processes and free-form ideation.
