As business continues to learn and align to a knowledge-based society around the world, so too does project management - are you seeing what I'm seeing?
Two common threads continue to weave through these discussions:
1. How will AI, machine learning, and all the other tech trends play out? How will project teams employ technology to analyze data and gain insight into decisions previously made by past experience, gut-checking, and group consensus?
2. Agile vs. waterfall - few would argue waterfall is now the dinosaur of project management, but unless you're looking at tech development or similar, a purely Agile approach overlooks some necessary detail when dealing with larger, more complex deployments...enter the middle ground: hybrid.
And, there's plenty of overlap in between these, magnified exponentially by the impact of analytics. It's project management 2.0...and it's coming at the speed of light.
Project management has been a critical business discipline for decades and with the fast paced societal, environmental, economic and technological changes on the horizon, it’s important to consider how these changes will impact how organizations manage and execute projects.
